Synopsis
According to locals and legend, the village of Melamchi Ghyang was founded in the 8th or 9th century. Guru Padmasambhava Rinpoche (the founder of Tibetan Buddhism) visited the area around 600 years ago. Today, people come to visit the Nyinda Rengjon Meditation Cave where Guru Rinpoche meditated.
