Synopsis

Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, is a vibrant metropolis in southern India, known for its tech industry often referred to as the "Silicon Valley of India." However, it was formerly recognized as the City of a Thousand Lakes; nowadays, it confronts unprecedented water scarcity. Over the past 50 years, the city's urban areas have expanded tenfold. During the same period, lakes and other bodies of water have diminished by 79%. To tackle this pressing issue, Anand Malligvad, a resident of Bangalore, decided to depart from his urban job and dedicate himself to restoring the city's long-lost lakes. He aims to mitigate flooding caused by monsoon rains, recharge groundwater supplies, and enable the local community to flourish. He also encourages residents to join him in this endeavour.
