The Thar Desert, or Great Indian Desert, is located in northwestern India and known for its extreme climate. The summer season can reach up to 50°C (122°F) during the day, while the winter season can drop to near freezing at night. Despite little rainfall throughout the year, the desert supports various plant and animal species. The Thar Desert is the most widely populated desert in the world, and communities have developed unique cultures and traditions closely tied to the desert environment.
