Synopsis

The sand tiger shark (Carcharias taurus) is a species of shark that lives in subtropical and temperate waters around the world, from sandy shorelines and submerged reefs to depths of 200m. Despite its fearsome appearance, it is a relatively slow-moving shark with no confirmed human fatalities, and its diet consists of bony fish, crustaceans, squid, skates, and other sharks. The sand tiger shark is critically endangered.
