Synopsis
Dal Lake in India experiences algae growth due to excessive nutrient load from untreated sewage, agricultural runoff, and organic decomposition. Solid waste and litter in the lake also contribute to nutrient load and water degradation. Human activities, climate change, and variations in water conditions further exacerbate the problem. Efforts to address the issue include wastewater treatment, wetland conservation, and sustainable agriculture practices to reduce nutrient inputs and improve water quality.
