Synopsis
As climate change drives an increase in factors such as rising ocean temperatures and ocean acidification, algal communities have been predicted to become less heterogenic in species richness. Within these stressed conditions, turf algal species conversely thrive, amassing sediment and in turn, obstructing potential recovery of the native marine biodiversity.
