Train Runs Through Kibera

Synopsis

Kibera is a neighbourhood within the Kenyan city of Nairobi, and it is Africa's largest slum also known as an informal settlement. It is located close to the Nairobi dam, and is built adjacent to the Ngong River, with some sections located directly on the flood plains of the river. The area suffers from poor water quality, lack of sanitation infrastructure and overcrowding. Lack of formal drainage infrastructure or green spaces to absorb excess water means that flooding is also a major threat to the residents.
