00:00:06 - 00:04:11 As a scientist, but also in my heart, I think we've got the\n00:04:13 - 00:07:16 most enormous opportunity right now\n00:07:16 - 00:12:07 Well, first, we've got an imperative that we need to get out of a crisis situation\n00:12:07 - 00:16:10 which really billions of peoples’ lives are on the line\n00:16:10 - 00:18:17 as well as millions of other species\n00:18:17 - 00:21:23 if we don't act decisively on climate change\n00:21:23 - 00:25:22 But if we can get behind triggering positive tipping points\n00:25:22 - 00:27:09 we've got the chance to accelerate\n00:27:09 - 00:32:07 into a much healthier, more vibrant future for us all as people\n00:32:10 - 00:35:01 In the most immediate sense, it's a great\n00:35:01 - 00:39:12 job creation scheme with good jobs as well in the new industries and infrastructure\n00:39:13 - 00:41:01 we have to build\n00:41:01 - 00:45:14 But ultimately, it's about securing a better future for us, for our kids\n00:45:14 - 00:48:17 for our grandkids, for many generations to come\n00:48:17 - 00:52:06 and hopefully in those future generations, there’ll be historians who look back\n00:52:06 - 00:56:23 and they'll see this pivotal moment now where hopefully we made the right choice\n00:56:23 - 00:59:18 and we started these self-propelling processes\n00:59:18 - 01:03:06 that took us into a happy place instead of the horror show\n01:03:06 - 01:06:23 that will unfold if we carry on with business as usual\n01:06:23 - 01:11:13 So that's an enormous kind of prize to play for in my head and in my heart
