Synopsis
Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site located in the Boka Kotorska Bay, on the Adriatic coast of Montenegro. Kotor encompasses the old town of Kotor (Italian Cattaro), the fortifications of Kotor, and the surrounding region of the inner Bay of Kotor.Seriously damaged by an earthquake in 1979, the principal monuments and historic urban areas have been carefully restored and reconstructed with help from UNESCO, and have retained their architectural, urban, and historical authenticity.The Church of Our Lady of Remedy is a Roman Catholic church perched on the slope of the St. John Mountain. It belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kotor in Montenegro and dates from 1518.
