Synopsis

Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca or Montaña de Siete Colores (mountain of seven colours) is located in the Cusco region, in the Andes mountain range.The colours were formed by the mineral composition of each of the rock layers, each colour relates to a different mineral.The mountain used to be covered by glacier caps, but these melted exposing the different colours of the mountain.
