Synopsis

The black squat lobster (Galathea squamifera), or Montagu's plated lobster, is a crustacean that lives in the Mediterranean Sea and north-east Atlantic Ocean, and is the most commonly found species of squat lobster on the shores of Northern Europe. They are chiefly nocturnal.Protected under the UK’s Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981, the Giant Goby (Gobius cobitis) is one of the UK’s rarest marine species - found only in South West England - and spends most of its time hiding in crevices on rocky shores. They have large heads and chunky bodies with salt and pepper speckled colouration. They are also found in the Eastern Atlantic, Mediterranean and Black Sea.
