Synopsis
Stalked jellyfish (Calvadosia campanulata) are bell-shaped, jelly-like animals, which bear a stalk with a basal sucker, the sucker being used for attachment to seaweed or seagrass. They differ from true jellyfish in a few ways, namely by being stationary for their entire adult lives. Several species of stalked jellyfish can be found off the UK coast, on rocky shores and shallow sublittoral.Craterolophus convolvulus is known as the Goblet stalked jellyfish in North America.
