Synopsis
St Piran’s Hermit Crabs (Clibanarius erythropus) are rare in the UK, having returned to the southwest English coast after disappearing in the 1980s. They are more prevalent in southern Europe. They use empty sea snail shells and are shy, often retreating when threatened.
