Synopsis
Lake Hodges is a reservoir located in southern California, situated in the San Dieguito River Valley between Escondido and Rancho Santa Fe. Created in 1918 with the construction of the Hodges Dam, the lake serves as an important water source for San Diego County and provides habitat for various bird species including eagles and hawks. The surrounding area features coastal sage scrub and chaparral vegetation typical of southern California's Mediterranean climate.
