Synopsis
Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is a pollutant released when burning fossil fuels that affects air quality and human health. From 2005 to 2016, NO2 levels in South America were monitored using data from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI). The OMI, aboard the NASA Aura satellite, provided high-resolution daily data on atmospheric NO2 concentrations.
