Synopsis

Under a high emissions scenario (RCP 8.5) with median probability projections, the average temperatures for June, July, and August in North America are expected to rise significantly. In Canada and Alaska, this will result in a shift from current blue, teal, and light green temperature zones in 2005 to teal, green, and yellow by 2099. In contrast, the southern part of the United States and Mexico will shift from yellow to orange and red, indicating a substantial increase in heat.
