Freshwater crocodiles (Crocodylus johnstoni) are native to Australia, inhabiting the freshwater rivers, swamps and lakes of northern AustraliaThe Freshwater Crocodile is slender-snouted and considerably smaller in build and overall size compared to its cousin, the Saltwater Crocodile Crocodylus porosus.
