Synopsis

Ragged-tooth sharks (carcharias taurus), also known as 'raggies', sand tiger sharks or nurse sharks is a species of shark that lives in subtropical and temperate waters around the world, from sandy shorelines and submerged reefs to depths of 200m. Despite its fearsome appearance, it is a relatively slow-moving shark with no confirmed human fatalities, and its diet consists of bony fish, crustaceans, squid, skates, and other sharksIts closest relative is the Great White shark (Carcharodon carcharias).Unlike fish species that rely on swim bladders, Ragged-tooth sharks surface to take in air, which fills their stomachs, allowing them to be buoyant in water. The Ragged-tooth shark is critically endangered.
