Synopsis
The Litterboom project is an initiative founded in 2017, that helps to prevent ocean plastic pollution in South Africa from reaching the ocean. This is done by anchoring a large pipe across different river pollution hotspots, where teams of river wardens intercept and remove the surface-level plastic from these rivers, as part of a long-term mitigation method.
