Trees on a Farm Regrown Using Kisiki Hai Technique in Kashangu Village, Tanzania
Drone footage taken in December 2023. Kashangu village is located in the Tanzanian region of Singida. As part of a treecovery program, farmers are taught how to recover previously cut-down tree stumps. In this farm, the trees are regrowing using the application of the Kisiki Hai technique.

Deforestation, land degradation, and global warming has led to an increase of dry and infertile land in many African countries.Living tree stumps can be found across Africa with the potential to re-grow into trees.Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration, also known as Treecovery or Kisiki Hai, involves selecting, pruning and protecting the stumps until they regenerate.
