Synopsis
Hawksbill sea turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) are critically endangered due to a variety of human-induced threats such as being unintentionally caught in fishing gear like nets and longlines. They also face challenges of habitat loss and climate change, with rising sea levels and temperature shifts altering their nesting sites and reducing hatchling survival.
