Synopsis
Cambodia’s mangroves have experienced a decrease in coverage from 1989 to 2017. Communities along the coastline are working to restore the mangrove forests. Established in 2009, the Trapeang Sangke community is an ecotourism area that covers 40-hectares of mangrove forest. Since 2010, the community has planted an estimated 600,000 mangrove trees as part of their restoration efforts.
