The Earthshot Prize

Featuring a diversity of stunning Open Planet footage, The Earthshot Prize films showcase 15 action heroes’ pioneering solutions to five of the Earth’s biggest challenges. Guided by their ethos: Urgency + Optimism = Action, The Earthshot Prize supercharges a global network of innovators, with this series of films (produced by Open Planet Studios) designed to bring to life their stories of innovation and inspire others.

See Through Stories

Produced by Open Planet Studios and See Through Stories, in collaboration with Capacity Foundation, THE CHIEFS is a powerful documentary showcasing the story of one of the most respected Indigenous leaders of the Brazilian Amazon, Cacique Álvaro Tukano. The film premiered at the UN’s COP30 climate summit and captures Cacique’s fight, alongside his people, to protect their ancestral lands against illegal deforestation, whilst inspiring viewers to connect to a way of living in greater harmony with nature. 

Nature Positive Initiative

Becoming Nature Positive is a documentary created by the Nature Positive Initiative and Open Planet Studios. Featuring top voices in science and conservation, including André Hoffman, Johan Rockström, Eva Zabey, Grethel Aguilar and Marco Lambertini, the film is a first-of-it’s-kind, providing a fresh insight on the nature agenda and showing that a nature positive future is not only possible – it’s urgent. 

UNEP

Made with striking Open Planet footage, this video pushes for a critical boost in adaptation funding, launched with UNEP’s Adaptation Gap Report 2025. The film illustrates the urgency in closing the funding gap to avoid worsening climate impacts and debt which further burdens vulnerable nations.

World's Largest Lesson

Helping students turn their love for nature into impactful stories, Open Planet teamed up with World’s Largest Lesson to deliver an online lesson to thousands of young people across the world. Wild Futures for Storytelling delves behind the scenes of Open Planet Studios’ film, Ocean with David Attenborough, walking students through storyboarding, narration and finding your creative voice. Lessons like these can help protect our planet and inspire a future network of storytellers!

University of Exeter

Our new reality sees the world crossing its first tipping point. Created to coincide with the Global Tipping Points Report 2025, this film – narrated by Rt. Hon. Dame Jacinda Ardern – uses Open Planet footage to explore the concept of earth’s most critical thresholds, and their potential to trigger positive change.

Built By Nature

Narrated by Grand Designs’ Kevin McCloud, this documentary explores how we can build our way toward climate solutions. Our Future: Built By Nature weaves together Open Planet footage with insights from scientists, forestry experts and engineers, showing how timber and bio-based materials can deliver scalable, affordable, and locally rooted solutions to industry’s big pollution problem. The film premiered ahead of the COP30 climate summit, and spotlights six award-winning projects where precision meets purpose in regenerative and circular design.

Crtve Development; Wellcome

This compelling film series was produced in partnership with Crtve Development and Open Planet, supported by Wellcome, as part of a storytelling project to highlight the effects of climate change on human health in South Africa. All films were produced using footage from Open Planet to bring to life the stories of five individual filmmakers.

Agency for Nature

As part of the 2025 Agency for Nature campaign, aiming to connect young people with the natural world, this short film produced by creatives at House 337 using Open Planet footage celebrates the fierce connection between drag artistry and the wild.

United Nations Development Programme

We’re proud to have collaborated with the UNDP on a new film for COP16, using footage from the Open Planet library to showcase global biodiversity and call for urgent action to safeguard our future for people and planet. 

Together for the Ocean

New York Climate Week 2024 welcomed the launch of the first ever Planetary Health Check report by the Planetary Guardians, where compelling footage from our library helped bring to life inspiring stories of hope from Xiye Bastida, Farwiza Farhan, Dr. Jane Goodall and President Juan Manuel Santos.
